24th Annual Midwest Mopars in the Park National Car Show and Swap Meet
May 31-June 1, 2008
Dakota County Fairgrounds, Farmington, MN
The 24th Annual Midwest Mopars in the Park Car Show, held for the first
time at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, MN was a smashing
success! More than 700 show cars, 7,000 spectators, hundreds of
swappers, fields full of car corral participants, pole barns full of
sponsors and vendors, all showed up to enjoy the two-day family event in
addition to the first-ever Arts and Craft Show.
Needless to say, we were busy; but it was fun to see so many people
attend the largest ALL MOPAR car show in the Upper Midwest.
The Dakota County Fairgrounds proved to be an excellent choice in where
to relocate the show since outgrowing Raceway Park, Shakopee, MN in
2007. While it was very hard to leave the hospitality of John
Hellendrung and his crew at Raceway, a move was required.
As with any move, there are obstacles to overcome. However, the Midwest
Mopars board of directors and volunteer show committee members did an
outstanding job of organizing, planning and implementing the hundreds of
new duties and assignments for the new location.
Now having one show under their belts, the Board and committee members
are once again deep into the planning of the 25th Annual Midwest Mopars
in the Park National Car Show & Swap Meet to be held May 30-31, 2009.
The 25th Anniversary car show is expected to generate even greater
attendance numbers across the board, i.e., more show cars, more
spectators, more swappers, more vendors, more food vendors and more
entertainment and a whole schedule of club history events.
Also new for 2009 is the initiation of a Young Guns Program. This
program will be dedicated to 16 to 24 year old car owners with a valid
driver’s license. The vehicles must be registered in the participant’s
name and each must provide proof of insurance. Click on the link above
